Getting Settled

I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!

Whew! We're ALMOST settled in but we are still looking for the boxes containing our jeans, sweaters, and shoes. Just kind of important stuff, eh? (Gotta love the movers)

Anyway, I will post pictures as soon as possible. Until then, enjoy this super awesome poem my mom wrote:

Induction
And so it went from dreaded threat of premature delivery,
To imposing labor! (Why Nature stalled, will always be a mystery)
But must prevent infection.
No anesthetic was her choice, yet fears were not so bold
Clear water gushed when painless probe released the cushioned hold
“Twill start soon,” said the physician.
With head engaged and body braced, contractions began to matter
Her face soon flushed and halting breath replaced the happy chatter
She searched for better position.
Father looked on in utter awe; the tears welled up and spilled
His shaking frame was ill prepared to bear the ensuing thrill
It entirely defied description.
“Her hair is black, she’s almost here with just another push”
The rim was tight, the cry was shrill at the peak of crowning rush
She hardly felt the incision.
The dusky infant began to wail with nurse’s vigorous rubbing
Identification and weight and length, and wrapping after scrubbing
A process of precision.
“I can’t believe it,” he said several times as she put the babe to breast
He gently kissed his wife and child, How could he be so blessed?
The joy approached perfection.

I love it! This one made me cry, and realize how much love and strength go into a birth, (and how I will never do that again) :( Anyway, I hope you all are doing well. It's weird to see other cars in your driveway here. I half expect to still see you guys walking around the neighborhood! Can't wait to see pictures of your new place! Hope the little one is doing great!

What a sweet poem from your sweet mom! I'm sure Heidi will love to read it someday!
